History of The ISAB

2017-2021

Further to consolidation of the Laws of the Game

in late 2010's with numerous significant

changes, overseen by ISAB's education dept,

The ISAB, in order to present itself

as an organisation ready to keep pace

with modern subbuteo, prepared a

major update of the Laws of the Game,

while the association itself underwent

a complete transformation.

2017
NEW ERA OF THE ISAB

In 2017 The ISAB became registered as an independent association under the Hellenic Civil Code, which marks a new era for the organisation. Subsequently, The ISAB had two new advisory panels added to its structure, with members coming from the broader subbuteo world and contributing their expertise as former players or referees. The ISAB’s base is thus as broad as ever, even as the organisation is insistent on maintaining its independence in a challenging contemporary setting.

2017
A MAJOR CHANGE

The ISAB, recognizing the need to adjust its image to contemporary setting, re-established itself as a modern, transparent and democratic organisation.

Two new advisory bodies (Technical Advisory Panel and Subbuteo Advisory Panel) were introduced to the organisational structure of The ISAB to monitor the subbuteo market and provide quality assurance throughout the law-making and amending process.

With the new, wider decision-making process in place, a major update of the Laws of the Game was prepared. The ISAB’s ultimate goal is to be perceived not only as subbuteo’s lawmaker, but also a forward-thinking, dynamic organisation protecting the health and stability of the game.
